Catalyst Church Leadership

Lead Pastor, Zach Sutton
Hi, I'm Zach. I grew up in beautiful San Diego, California. I played baseball, cheered for the Padres and Chargers, and spent many afternoons on the beach. After high school I joined the United States Air Force as an avionics technician, working on F-15 & F-22 aircraft. I've worked for the 58th FS located at Eglin AFB, in Florida; the 54th and 12th FS located at Elmendorf AFB, in Alaska; and finally, the 95th FS and 43d AMU located at Tyndall AFB, in Florida.
I enjoyed serving my country, and in doing so met the most amazing woman in the whole world: my wife Sara. Sara is a passionate teacher of God’s Word and an encouraging supporter. I became the happiest guy in the world when she accepted my proposal for marriage. After marrying and having children, I developed an insatiable appetite for God’s Word and teaching others.
Stepping forward in my faith I started Seminary at Liberty University, finding a great church home and mentor-ship with Pastor Loren at The Bridge Community in Utah. I was blessed with an opportunity to serve alongside Pastor Loren as the Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader. Then, I began to feel the Lord calling me back to Florida, and more specifically to Northstar Church. I had the privilege of serving as a pastor at Northstar for nearly two years. As my desire for the Word grew, so did the desire to teach the Word. In August of 2014, I and the rest of the leadership crew launched Catalyst Church. I completed Seminary with a Masters degree in Divinity (MDiv) from Liberty University in 2016 and I will graduate from Capella University in the summer of 2022 with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Sara Sutton
Hello and welcome! My name is Sara, and I am honored to be a wife and ministry partner to an amazing husband, Pastor Zach Sutton. I am blessed to be mother and home educator to five children ages 20, 19, 15, 14 & 14 (twins!) years old. I am passionate about my calling to help people find a deep and faith-filled life with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Although my primary responsibilities in this season are supporting my husband in his role as lead pastor at Catalyst, and educating my children at home, I also enjoy teaching occasionally as an Adjunct Professor of Ethics and Communication at GCSC--as well as counseling women, couples and teens through challenging life circumstances. I enjoy the privilege of serving in our community, writing, teaching, instructing and training others to delight in the Lord and all He has for us is a rewarding calling. Phil 4:8-9
