[1] Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.
I have made a lot of stupid decisions and done a lot of stupid things. My life is littered with times when I knew better and didn't do better. I have been called stupid by people and, when considering the source, I dismissed the accusation. They had no authority... but when the Bible says it, it's different.
I try not to waste too much time looking back on all I have done wrong. History is studied so it doesn't repeat itself. My past has no bearing on the future God has for me. For the time I have left, I want the memories left of me to be those of regard for how I pursued the Lord and grew into the man God created me to be. I can't do that without appreciating (and heeding) wise instruction.
