Proverbs 1:8-9 NKJV

[8] My son, hear the instruction of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother; [9] For they will be a graceful ornament on your head, and chains about your neck.

I know that not everyone was blessed with good parents. Mine weren't perfect, but there was never a doubt in my mind that they wanted only the best for me. I knew they loved me. They have been gone for quite some time, but I still remember a lot of the words of wisdom, guidance, and grace they offered me through the years.

Now that I'm older, I would love to go back and ask them some questions. I don't have that option, but I do have access to an infinite amount of love and wisdom from the Lord. Scripture is filled with God's love, leadership, and life lessons. I can't talk to Mom and Dad, but I get to talk to and hear from my Father every day. That is why I keep reading His Word.
