[1] Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, [2] To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
One of the character defects I contend with daily is my ability to find flaws. I fix things for a living, so it is in my nature to spot a problem. That works well for my job, but it does me no favors for my closest relationships.
This greeting from Paul reminds me to find ways of being thankful for the people in my life. I don't have to fix people. I am supposed to love them, encourage them, and bless them. A critical spirit is not a blessing spirit. It is quite the opposite. My first call is to love like Jesus... and extending grace is a close second.
