All institutions rise and fall on leadership. Marriages, families, churches, and governments are no exception to this rule. I witnessed this principle firsthand in my own home.
My position as a husband and father is supposed to be that of a leader. The first thirteen years of my marriage, I did things MY way on MY terms. The more I did them my way, the more things fell apart... the more I did wrong.
It wasn't until "I" surrendered my will completely that "we" (as a family) experienced real peace and restoration. I turned the mess I created over to the Creator. I still struggle to see myself as a leader. I try every day to follow Jesus. As I do that consistently, I have found that I do lead well.
