Colossians 2:16-17 NKJV

[16] So let no one judge you in food or drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, [17] which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

I am all for keeping traditions. I like celebrating Christmas and Easter. I especially enjoy the seasonal foods that go along with it. I love the holidays. Nothing about those traditions is harmful, but traditions alone do not compel me to worship the Lord.

The things we do day in and day out are the things that matter. I can find a reason to be grateful when the world is working against me. I can choose to be thankful without a celebration or a holiday tradition... I can choose joy even when I am unhappy. The days do not make the difference. Jesus does.
