Colossians 3:9-11 NKJV

[9] Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, [10] and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, [11] where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.

Old ways can't gain new ground. I have been blessed by the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome some major obstacles in my life. The Lord has allowed me to break free from multiple addictions. I firmly believe that I am a new creature in Christ, but I still have sinful tendencies that I have to avoid.

I have to be intentional about how I live, talk, think, and act. I openly profess to be a born-again believer, so everything I say and do has the potential to be damaging to my reputation and my faith. The new me must avoid doing anything that resembles the old man I used to be.
