[6] Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
If you know me, you know I have never really had a functioning filter. If I think it, I say it. I never mean real harm, but I can sometimes say things in a way that can be harmful. My mouth often runs slightly faster than my brain.
Over the past several years, I have been working through a laundry list of character defects. One of the more recent items on the list is my words. I still respond out of pure emotion from time to time, but the Holy Spirit is quick to remind me to ask forgiveness and operate in a spirit of humility. I can't follow Jesus with a heart hardened towards others.
