[1] Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, [2] fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Most of us are selfish by nature. We're human. We like things our way, in our time, and on demand. I don't particularly like conceding to the will of anyone else, but what am I supposed to do when I am left with no other choice?
My way isn't always the right way. It most certainly doesn't always line up with God's way. A big reason why I surround myself with Jesus' followers is a selfish one. I need help staying in line. I am often blinded by my selfish preferences and desires. I have to be willing to receive and apply Godly counsel that bears witness to scripture and not to my wants.
