[14] Do all things without complaining and disputing, [15] that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, [16] holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
I tend to complain when things aren't going the way I want. I recognize that I am selfish. That part of me doesn't look for ways to glorify the Lord. It wants to grumble and whine.
Jesus didn't do that. His first mission was to do the will of the Father. If my approach patterns the attitude and actions of Jesus, I wouldn't be worrying about my wants or my wishes. My first focus should be to follow the will of God.
