Philippians 3:17 NKJV

[17] Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.

I'd like to think I could offer this suggestion with a clear conscience, but I can't. I know that I make mistakes. I sometimes act out of character and do not pattern my behavior after that of Jesus. I let my attitude get the best of me.

The best I can offer is a feeble attempt to pursue Christ every day. I can't say I get it right, but I can say I try... day in and day out. Sanctification is a slow and steady effort that requires patience and grace for myself... loads of it. I don't look to others for hope or a good example. I only look to Jesus.

Let me offer you this. In addition:) As our example:

Christ is something we can never achieve. We get to be morenand more like him, but we will never be him. The example He set before us going to the cross is something we can live up to, by going to our cross everyday. That is the example we set and it is achievable. Through forgiveness he makes us righteous! And through that we example the righteousness of God. Continue to live in forgiveness through grace and offer forgiveness to others. In this, we will present the perfect righteousness of Christ and not be hypocritical, we will also not feel like perfection is unattainable. Perfection happens on the cross. And Jesus took the burden so our lives can be easy and have a light burden. Others (and us) can provide a good example of this. Paul said, follow me as I follow Christ:) So through grace, we must say that to people that need to see, hear and understand how to obtain perfection and righteousness. Through Christ! By no means, do we take away from Jesus in this. This is what he wants. Because in our actions we are always “Only looking to Jesus”. T
