[11] Not that I speak regarding need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: [12] I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. [13] I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I want for (and wish for) a lot. An abundance of money would be nice. A home without a mortgage would be awesome. I could list a thousand things that could make my life easier, simpler, and less stressful. All of the items on that list would be solely focused on selfish desires.
God's gifts do not come with a payment schedule. He has blessed and sustained me in ways that can't be purchased with worldly wealth. He has given me the ability to provide for my family well. He has delivered me from addiction and restored my health. Jesus was available when I was at my lowest point. He is still present today. I couldn't ask for more than that.
