[4] Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

I don't have a problem being joyful when everything is going as planned. Times are good. Life is good. All is going according to plan. It's all smiles for me... until... something unexpected happens. It is the hard moments that give me the most grief.

Circumstances aren't meant to dictate our ability to worship. It makes no difference whether a situation is good or not. God is still sovereign. His providence is still over and above all. He is STILL good. I believe (based on my own experiences) that the most genuine worship comes from a broken and hurting heart... when pride has fallen away.

I don't look forward to the bad times, but I know that God is still worthy of my praise. My happiness can flee, but my God remains.
