[6] Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; [7] and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
It's easy for someone to say, "Don't worry about it." This advice usually comes from someone unaffected by the stress we are experiencing. Sure! They mean well, but they don't understand my situation.
When the Bible says it, we should all sit up and pay attention.
Worry is self-centered thinking. Prayer is God-centered thinking. It is a focus issue. Fretting about things does little good, but prayer allows us to make space for the Holy Spirit to intervene on our behalf. When we pray and petition God, we take our mess and surrender it to the Master.
