[20] Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares. [21] She cries out in the chief concourses, at the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words: [22] “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge. [23] Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.
More than once, I have said or done something and immediately thought, "Why did I do that?" or "I knew better." None of us is immune to foolishness, especially when we make decisions alone. Wise counsel is imperative to sound decisions.
When I started pursuing Jesus, I made the conscious decision to involve as many God-fearing men in my life as possible. If the past had only taught me one thing, I could not make good decisions all alone all the time. I am flawed, foolish, and fallible. The Lord gives us wisdom-filled connections for our protection. I use them every chance I get.
