[1] My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, [2] So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; [3] Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift your voice for understanding, [4] If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; [5] Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.
I used to feel like everything about God was a mystery. I didn't invest much time in our relationship, so it should've come as no surprise that I didn't understand Him. My prayer life was relegated to a few words in the evening. My Bible knowledge was only fed on Sunday mornings. I believed in the Lord, but I didn't know Jesus.
The God whom I thought was unreachable made Himself known to me in a very big way when I became intentional about pursuing Him. His peace, His presence, and His power popped from every page of the Bible. The still small voice of the Holy Spirit which I once believed was silent became notably louder in my prayer life. He still shows up daily because I desire and faithfully seek His presence.
Matthew 7:7 - “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
