[7] Wisdom is too lofty for a fool; He does not open his mouth in the gate.
I can remember a period when I would intentionally avoid asking certain people certain questions. I DID NOT want to hear what they had to say. I would rather look for people who would sympathize with my "cause" and find no harm in what I was thinking or doing. I was a fool.
Although I probably still have a little fool left in me, I am intentional about seeking, listening to, and applying wise advice. I know I don't have it all figured out. That is the driving force behind maintaining accountability, reading and meditating on God's Word, and opening myself up to correction. Sometimes I need my feelings hurt to continue experiencing spiritual growth.
