[17] Seldom set foot in your neighbor’s house, lest he become weary of you and hate you.
My mom had a kind way of putting it when she wasn't overly fond of a person's company. She would say, "A little bit of them goes a long way." It would always make me chuckle, but it really was a fitting statement (especially for some people).
Jesus was a polarizing person. For as many who loved Him, there were plenty who hated Him. In reading through the Gospels, one common theme always stands out. He never stayed in one place too long. He arrived, delivered His message, made an impact, then left.
We don't always belong where we are, but I believe God can use us where we are standing... even for a brief moment. We just have to be in tune with the Holy Spirit to recognize when we are being prodded to go. A well-delivered message will continue speaking long after we are gone.
