Proverbs 25:24 NKJV

[24] It is better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, than in a house shared with a contentious woman.

Dani and I have been married for almost nineteen years. I can confirm that the past several years have been our happiest years to date. There have been ups and downs, but they pale in comparison to most of our first fifteen. I could point fingers and reference this passage as support to my argument, but anyone who knows us are well aware of my influence in the matter.

A farmer doesn't plant plant one kind of seed with the expectation of reaping a different harvest.

I don't believe this verse applies to the God-honoring marriage of two people working together towards sanctification. The design of a Christ-centered home is God first, then the husband, wife, and children. A wife isn't designed to be over (or better) than the husband. I can't expect to draw out better or different than I put in. If I desire joy in my home, I have to sow the first seeds of joy myself by pouring out the joy of the Lord I have within me.
