[27] It is not good to eat much honey; So to seek one’s own glory is not glory.
Over the years, I have met many people who had more than me. The ones who were quick to point that out were always the hardest to respect. Pride and arrogance are two things I find grossly distasteful. All any of us have could be gone in a moment.
I work really hard to be good at what I do. In the years of working for myself, I have learned a lot. All of my work experience has been earned on the job. I am proud of my accomplishments. I am thankful for my ability to learn, comprehend, and apply that knowledge. I am grateful for the blessing of a busy business that has kept my family fed.
Of all I have, none of it would be possible without God. I don't deserve any credit for anything beyond a willingness to work. I understand where my blessings come from, so I don't mind using what God has given me to help and teach others. If my life were over tomorrow, I hope those nearest to me would remember me not for what I have accomplished, but for all that God has accomplished in me. It is all His glory and none of my own.
