[13] The lazy man says, “There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion is in the streets!” [14] As a door turns on its hinges, so does the lazy man on his bed. [15] The lazy man buries his hand in the bowl; It wearies him to bring it back to his mouth. [16] The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer sensibly.
I enjoy an occasional day of rest. Rest is an important part of our mental, physical, and spiritual health. It was important enough for God to incorporate a Sabbath day into creation. We all require a certain amount of rest, but we were made to work.
Productivity gives us purpose. We were made in His image, so it is only fitting that what we do should mimic the One who made us. Laziness is not part of our DNA. It is a disease that keeps us from fulfilling our purpose in a disrespectful, self-centered manner. Done correctly, work is one of the purest forms of true worship.
I Corinthians 10:31 - Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
