I remember playing a "gossip game" in our teen church group back in high school. We all sat in a circle with one goal; get the message around the circle without losing any information. The initial message didn't actually make sense, but the end product sounded nothing like the original sentence. It is amazing how quickly a message gets twisted as word spreads.
I have heard pastors deliver an entire message from a passage of scripture taken completely out of context. News outlets can take the same words and bend them to fit their agenda. The older I get, the less I trust anyone of influence. I can seek the truth for myself. If you want to know what I think, ask me. I do my best to make sure what I believe is fully backed by scripture and filtered with the discernment of the Holy Spirit. If God said it, I believe it.
