[7] Like the legs of the lame that hang limp is a proverb in the mouth of fools. [8] Like one who binds a stone in a sling is he who gives honor to a fool. [9] Like a thorn that goes into the hand of a drunkard is a proverb in the mouth of fools.
I was raised around my great grandparents. They knew a lot about everything. Despite neither one of them finishing high school, I remember admiring their seemingly infinite wealth of information. They earned every ounce of wisdom they possessed. All of it was hard fought with time, patience, and endurance. There have been countless times I wished I could call them for advice.
In today's age of social influence, there is no lack of advice from unqualified souls. Dating, marriage, life, and financial gurus litter Facebook, YouTube, and so on. When I was getting sober, I didn't look to another addict for wisdom. I don't believe it is a good idea to take financial advice from a broke man. The enemy wants us to believe everything we hear and he will send all sorts of characters to lead us away from God. If I really want to know, I believe every answer lies somewhere in Scripture.
Matthew 6:33 - But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
