[17] As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
Years ago, I heard a friend say, "When I am alone, I am in terrible company." As funny as it is, it is also completely true. I don't do well relying on myself. The sinful side of me doesn't love accountability. The spiritual side of me seeks it out.
One of the beautiful parts of sanctification is the relationships developed in the process. While everyone has their own spiritual walk, it isn't something meant to be done solo. We NEED a community of like-minded believers to lift each other up and call each other out. My accountability starts at home and extends outward into my family and the church body. That is exactly how God designed it.
Genesis 2:18 - And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
