[18] Whoever keeps the fig tree will eat its fruit; So he who waits on his master will be honored.
I have grown a garden only a couple of times in my adult life. If you do it right, there is a lot to it. One thing I vividly recall is how it wasn't too bad if I tended to it a little each day. If for some reason it was left unkempt for a few days in a row, I would have a mess on my hands.
Spiritual growth is much like a garden. Daily maintenance is required to bear any real fruit. I have to constantly address the "sin weeds" that like to sprout before they take root. Those weeds, if left to stay, will eventually overtake the good spiritual growth. God is always in the garden. It is my responsibility to spend time with Him there.
