[25] Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor trouble from the wicked when it comes; [26] For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.
I used to be afraid of the dark. I couldn't walk down a dark hallway without hurrying to the safety of the light at the end. I had a brother who loved to watch scary movies. Like a fool, I would join him; knowing better but unable to say no. The "boogeyman" was as real as my imagination.
It's funny to look back on now. I could be scared by my own shadow. Now that I'm older, I am not shaken by much. A small portion of that comes from being too old to run. The largest part of lacking fear is a greater trust in God. If I were to die tomorrow, I know what lies ahead. The worst thing that could happen is getting to meet Jesus face to face.
