[27] Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so. [28] Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come back, and tomorrow I will give it,” When you have it with you.
As a business owner, I have to navigate the distance between the "business me" and the "blessing me." In my heart of hearts, I desperately want to help everyone. The practical, logical man in me understands that I have a responsibility to provide for my family. These two separate parts of me are constantly at war over defining the "right thing."
I believe God gives us gifts, abilities, and provisions to use in partnership with Him for ministry. It has taken a long time for me to realize that our ability to bless others has to come from the abundance of what God has given. We all have something to offer in the Kingdom. Whether it is time, talent, or treasure, we have to be obedient to the Holy Spirit's leading. God provides so that I can give and do.
