[16] These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: [17] A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, [18] A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, [19] A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.
I do a lot of self-examination. I look for ways to improve myself and I use scripture to point out areas of concern. I also believe that the Holy Spirit gives me a heightened sense of self-awareness in my blind spots... the areas I tend to never notice.
I know I am better than I used to be. When I look back on who I was four years ago, I am proud of the man I am today. That doesn't mean I got here on my own. If it hadn't been for the love of Jesus and God's grace, I would have been long gone. I have to be reminded on occasion that I have no room to be prideful; only humbly grateful for what the Lord has done.
