[1] My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you. [2] Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye. [3] Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart. [4] Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” And call understanding your nearest kin, [5] that they may keep you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words.
I love a good compliment. When people acknowledge me and show appreciation for my input, it matters to me. For years, my identity was tied to the value others placed on me. I had no motivation outside of constant affirmation. It was exhausting.
When I started digging into God's Word, I discovered an entire world of truth about myself that I had never known. I learned that I didn't need anything other than His truth to be spoken over me. His Words were the only words that mattered. The very God who created the universe knew me completely and loves me anyway. That is all the motivation I need and it keeps me pushing forward still.
