[11] For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you. [12] If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, and if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”
There are many ways to improve life physically. A healthy diet, regular exercise, and rest are three critical components. Without them, you can still live (for a while), but the length and quality of your life will be greatly diminished.
When I started looking to get healthy physically, my spiritual life was headed in the right direction. Prayer became a key component in managing my diet. I was honoring God with my heart, but I was not taking care of His temple. I had to lean into God's wisdom to retake control of my body.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I have learned that my ability to control my body is directly tied to my allowing God to control my spirit. I don't want to dishonor Him with any part of myself... mind, body, or spirit. I am still a work in progress, but I am so much further along because of what God can do with a little obedience.
