[15] Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. [16] Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
Jesus didn't walk around completely oblivious to the world around Him. He was well aware of the fate He would have to endure, yet He was still compassionate and connected to what others thought and felt. He was burdened with His own concerns and still cared enough to carry the burdens of others.
It is humbling to stop and compare myself to Christ. I do not measure up well. I am selfish, self-centered, and egotistical. I think more of myself than I should. I don't consider others nearly enough, and I struggle with balancing my time and energy in the areas that matter most to God.
