[17] Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. [18] If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
I have come to the conclusion that life is a multiple question test. Every decision has options. We have a mind to decide on what we say, what we do, and how we react. We don't always know the outcome of every decision, so we rely on impulses and instincts to make critical choices. It hasn't always worked out well for me.
When "I" decide, it is usually wrong. I tend to be volatile when I react. I allow my emotions to cloud my judgment because I typically seek a self-gratifying outcome. I lean towards what works best for me and what is easiest in the moment... not what is pure and Holy.
As I seek more guidance from the Holy Spirit, I have come to recognize my tendency to be self-seeking. When I look to do what glorifies God, it makes for peaceable results. I know myself. I make mistakes. When I make room for the Lord, He always steers me in the right direction.
