[1] Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, [2] through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. [3] And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; [4] and perseverance, character; and character, hope. [5] Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
I have had a lot of difficult situations that God used to help me stop relying on myself. I learned to quit worrying about the things I couldn't change. I learned that "my control" was the root of my problems. "My way" was the wrong way. Faith has helped me recognize that I am okay when things are not.
I can be at peace in the midst of chaos. When I start to feel overstimulated and pulled in every direction, that is when I am reminded to pray, seek, trust, and know. Jesus did it. He set the tone with His example of how we should respond to stress. He was pulled in every direction. He MADE time to stop and pray.
I don't have to like everything the way it is. I don't have to be happy all the time to experience real, lasting joy. When everything is spiraling, God is still on His throne. There is a level of unexplainable peace that comes from knowing Jesus and trusting Him with blind faith.
