[34] Surely He scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble. [35] The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools.
When I was immersed in the world, I was arrogant and entitled. I had it all figured out. I did things the way I wanted and I didn't care about the opinions of anyone. I wouldn't accept correction because I was a haughty fool who didn't need or want help or advice.
When I finally made it to my lowest point, I was grateful for the help and grace of those who had once tried to help. I had a different perspective because a life of addiction had humbled me. Instead of ignoring God, I started seeking Him. It's amazing how quickly Jesus shows up when we are willing to submit to His authority. That experience is why I continue seeking Him today.
