[1] Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven. [2] Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; [3] meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, [4] that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
I make a conscious effort to pray multiple times a day. Some days I do more than others. It is a standard practice to ask for His mercy, blessings, and provision, as well as to pray for my family and friends (when they are on my mind). That is typically the extent of it.
Paul requests prayer for himself in this passage... which points out a hole in my prayer life. Seldom do I intentionally pray for the mentors and pastors in my life. I have been blessed with quite a few of them who love me, correct me, encourage me, and constantly point me to Jesus.
Lord, thank You for my life, family, and faithful spiritual leaders You have blessed me with.
