[7] A satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb, but to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
When I started my journaling journey just over four years ago, I had been praying to hear from God. I heard people say God told them this or that. They had "heard from God". I longed to receive that same kind of communication. In my praying, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that I wanted to hear from Him, but I wasn't willing to read what He wrote me.
I had to become hungry for God's Word. I had to make time to read each day. I did it so much that it became a habit I continue today. There are days when it feels like I am going through the motions. In these moments, I have to remind myself that I still NEED it. God's Word does not need me... I NEED His Word to dwell in me. I NEED His wisdom. I NEED His strength. I NEED to be hungry for the sustenance that His Word provides.
